Dear Owen-Withee Families,
My name is Randy Bergman, and I am the new Superintendent. It has been a great start to the 2024-2025 school year and the students and staff have been so awesome already. I’ve talked to a lot of students and one-by-one I’m learning their names and things that interest them. I hope to meet many of their parents this year and just talk about how we can make things any better in the school district. Also, talking to the community in general is beneficial for all of us. We want to let you know what is happening in your school district. My door is always open, and you can also email me if you have any questions. I am all about the students and making their education the best it can be.
This year is an important year for funding the school. The 2019 referendum for $400,000 dollars has fallen off the revenue limit worksheet. This means that if the new 3-year referendum for $500,000 fails we will begin $400,000 short. The board has already made cuts before I began in July and if the referendum fails again there will need to be more cuts. The previous cuts and future cuts will hurt the students and staff of the district. Please help support the school district and the students to get a great education. To be successful, we need to help retain the excellent teachers and staff we already have in the school district.
This is a great school district with a lot of positive educational things going on in it. I am glad that I said “Yes” to coming to the district and helping make it more successful in the future. As I said before, please call and get accurate information about anything happening in the schools.
Yours in Education
Mr. Randy Bergman
Superintendent
