Recovery Intervnetion Program
The RIP program gives each student an opportunity to work on a course that is specifically designed for them. Their course work can be aligned with either the school's curriculum or the Wisconsin State Standards. Once the course work is established, the students spend one or more class periods per day in the RIP classroom to work on their individual subject matter. Their lessons are computer based and most are on a program called "Odyesseyware". Starting in 2017 we have even more options for courses our students can take Students may also work on any computer that has access to the internet by loging in to https://medford.owschools.com or https://wen.geniussis.com/PublicWelcome.aspx
The School District of Owen-Withee is going through a new vendor as of 2017. We are using The Virtual Academy and we go through the Medford schools to get access. The Odysseyware course work for the kids has not changed. The only thing that has changed is on the administrative end and the additiont of the new Genius/Buzz programs.
If a student finishes their course work before the end of the quarter or semester, they are done with that class and can then spend their time working on other classes. The more effort a student puts into a class the sooner they can finish it.
