Mrs. Winger, Mr. Weiler Named Teachers of the Year

Mrs. Kathy Winger and Mr. Russ Weiler were named 2013 O-W Teachers of the Year at the Teacher Recognition Banquet on May 15. Mrs. Winger, a Jr/Sr High Science teacher and Mr. Weiler, a 4th Grade teacher, were nominated by staff, students or community members and the voted on by a selection committee. CONGRATULATIONS, MRS. WINGER and MR. WEILER!

A Beautiful Day to Give Back!
Students from Owen-Withee Junior and Senior High Schools gave back to the communities that support them on Wednesday, May 15, with a day of service. Students worked for community members, the Village of Withee, The City of Owen, townships and businesses to spruce things up and do chores to help out their community. This is one way the students can say, "Thank you for all your support."

O-W Musicians Excel at State
On Saturday May 4, thirty-one Owen-Withee music students participated in the Wisconsin School Music Association's State Solo and Ensemble Festival at UW-Eau Claire. The students performed in fifteen events, and eighteen of the students received First ratings in six events. The O-W Polka Band extended it streak of consecutive state first ratings to eight years.
In order to qualify for State, the students had to earn a "Starred First", the highest possible rating in class A at the District Solo and Ensemble Festival, which was held at Neillsville on February 16.
